This tri-clamp gasket is made from silicone - which is the material of choice when you need a gasket that can withstand a large range of temperatures, from very cold to quite hot, and is our best selling gasket. Silicone washers are not particularly resistant to tearing and do wear out over time, especially as they are not particularly resistant to steam or acid compounds, compared to other materials.
