CTZ Hop Profile
CTZ stands for Columbus, Tomahawk, and Zeus — three hop varieties that are nearly indistinguishable from one another and all descendents of Nugget. Typically used as a bittering hop, CTZ delivers an impressive bite with alpha acids clocking in at 15-17%. CTZ packs a punch of ripe citrus, dank and slightly pungent flavor, backed by earth and spice. This hop can bolster heavy hop bills, and works well with fellow "C" comrades like Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. A premier American bittering hop bursting with flavor.
Pro tip: We added CTZ to the Top Hops for Hazy IPAs list, since it pairs beautifully with Nugget and Chinook, checking all of the boxes for aroma, flavor, and biotransformation compounds.

CTZ HOP SUBSTITUTIONS
CTZ is dank and pungent. Chinook, Nugget, and Warrior carry similar flavor and bittering characteristics, making them the perfect substitutions for CTZ.
